Chandrababu promises Polavaram district with merged mandals

Alluri Sitarama Raju, July 29: Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu visited Yetapaka mandal on Friday as part of his second day tour. Addressing a gathering, Chandrababu promised to create Polavaram district with all merged mandals once the TDP comes to power. He criticised ruling YSRCP government for declaring Paderu as district headquarters for mandals such as Yetapaka and Chintur which are located at a distance of more than 350 kilometres.

The TDP chief mentioned that farmers gave 35,000 acres for construction of Amaravati as capital. “The value of land is around Rs 2 to 3 lakh crores,” he said. Naidu found fault with the Jagan government for not developing the capital in Amaravati. “As a result, farmers are agitating for the last 1,000 days,” he stated. He gave a call to people in mandals merged with AP from Khammam district during state bifurcation to protest against the YSRCP government seeking justice.
