Five die in Palamuru lift irrigation scheme works
Kollapur, July 29: Five labourers died in a mishap during Palamuru lift irrigation scheme works in Nagarkurnool district on Friday.
When the labourers were descending into the pump house with the help of a crane in the early hours of Friday, the crane wire was snapped killing five labourers on the spot. Another one was severely injured.
The incident took place during the construction of Palamuru Ranga Reddy package – 1 at Regumanagadda of Kollapur mandal. The deceased were identified as belonging to Bihar and the bodies were shifted to Osmania hospital in Hyderabad. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
