LB Nagar Varshita death mystery solved: She died by suicide, says police probe

Hyderabad: The police solved the death mystery of the minor girl, which took place under the LB Nagar Police Station limits on Tueday. Sridhar Reddy, ACP of LB Nagar, said that the preliminary investigation revealed that Varshita died by suicide by jumping off the fourth floor of a building.

He said that the investigation into the girl's death had been carried out from various angles. He stated that they questioned Durgesh, the auto driver, who brought the girl to the building premises from where she jumped.

According to the ACP, Varshita is the daughter of Satyanarayana Reddy and Prabhavathi, residing at Road No 5 in Madhuranagar of Mansurabad.  On Tuesday evening, the girl came from school and went to the shop to buy chips. Came to Mansoorabad crossroads and boarded an auto. From there she reached LB Nagar and finally Chandrapuri Colony and paid Rs 50 auto fare.

While travelling in the auto she asked for the driver’s mobile and made a call to her father but could not speak to him as he was on another call. The auto driver dropped Varshita at the apartment and when watchwoman Venkatamma asked Varshitha whom she wanted to meet she said she came to meet her her father.

The girl immediately when to the fourth floor by stairs and the watchwoman sent her son Raju to the top of the building but no one was there. Meanwhile, Varshita jumped from the fourth floor by that the watchwoman reached the terrace. Immediately, the locals rushed her to the hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.

The initial investigation by the police revealed that she went to the fourth floor to end her life. Doctors examined during the postmortem whether the girl was sexually assaulted or not? But, the reports revealed that there was no such thing.

The residents of the colony were moved to tears as Varshita, who was good at studies, was able to get along with everyone. It is reported that Varshita, who is a sensitive person, may have resorted to extreme step due to some conflict in the family.
