Tirupati techie dies while taking selfie

Tiruvottiyur (Karnataka), July 18: The craze for selfie claimed the life of a software engineer, who slipped into Kalladi river and died.

According to sources, Katta Vineetha Chowdari (26) of Tirputi was working as a software engineer in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Along with friends, she went to Ooty on Saturday. While taking selfie with friends near Kalladi river banks,Vineetha accidentally fell in the river. She got swept away as water flow is heavy.

After receiving information, fire fighters staff reached the spot and searched for the body. But they couldn’t find the body till Saturday night. They retrieved the body on Sunday morning.

Police registered a case and started investigation.
