CM Jagan wears auto driver’s uniform during launch of fourth phase Vahana Mitra

Visakhapatnam, July 15: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy disbursed Rs 216.5 crore to 2,61,516 auto and taxi drivers under the fourth phase of Vahana Mitra scheme here on Friday.

On arrival at Visakhapatnam Airport, ministers, officials and YSRCP leaders welcomed Jagan Reddy. He straight away drove to the Andhra University’s engineering college grounds where he interacted with a few beneficiaries of the Vahana Mitra.

It is interesting to note that the CM wore auto driver’s uniform and took photos with scheme beneficiaries. Speaking on the occasion, Jagan said that Andhra Pradesh is the only state in India which is extending Rs 10,000 financial assistance to auto, taxi and cab drivers.

“Abiding by the promise, I have launched the scheme within four months after YSRCP coming to power,” he mentioned and added that around Rs 1.65 lakh crore was directly credited into the accounts of beneficiaries of various social welfare schemes in the last three years.
