Rare honour for Sourav Ganguly, British Parliament felicitates former Indian captain

Kolkata: BCCI President and former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly received a rare honour. Dada was felicitated by the British Parliament on the 20th anniversary of Team India's victory in the 2002 Natwest Trophy final (July 13). Ganguly himself revealed this. He said that he is very proud as a Bengali that the British Parliament has honoured him. He explained that UK representatives approached him for the felicitation less than six months ago. He said that British Parliament honours someone like this every year and this time he got that opportunity.

Meanwhile, on July 13, 2002, Team India under the captainship of Ganguly registered a sensational victory over England in the Natwest Trophy final and lifted the trophy. The British Parliament honoured Ganguly on July 13, 2022, on the 20th anniversary of Ganguly Sena's memorable victory. In that match, the young Indian team smashed the huge target of 326 runs with three balls left and created history.
