Indigo Airlines charges ‘cute fee’ from passengers, air ticket picture goes viral

Delhi: Airport security fee and user development fee are charged in the flight ticket itself. However, those who traveled by Indigo flight recently were surprised to see 'cute charge' in their ticket. They were confused about charging a fee for beauty.

One Santanu shared his ticket details on Twitter. That ticket with the details of 'cute charge' has gone viral. Many netizens made jokes about this. Criticised the Indigo company. “I know I look pretty good for my age. But, I never expected that Indigo would charge me like this.”In the picture shared by Santanu, the details of the ticket price have been placed. Out of that, air fare charges, seat fee, security and convenience fees as well as they charged Rs 100 as ‘cute charge’.

Another person posted a similar photo on Twitter. “I don't want to travel with IndiGo because of these new fares. Those charges will cost me Rs 20,000. It is much more than the price of a plane ticket," he said in a lighter vein.

What is Cute fee?

Cute stands for 'Common User Terminal Equipment. The Airport Authority of India collects these charges. It is charged for using metal detecting machines, escalators and other equipment at selected airports. IndiGo's response to the ‘Cute fee’ that went viral on Twitter said, “Please note that these charges are levied for using Common User Terminal Equipment (CUTE) services at selected airports. We are here to serve you,” replied a netizen.
