Hyderabad: Rishab Pant, who slammed a century in the fifth Test against England, again hit a half-ton in the second innings. Thus, Pant became the second Indian wicketkeeper to score a century and a half-century in a single Test. In this match, Pant hit 146 runs in the first innings and scored 57 runs in the second innings.
Earlier in 1973, former Indian wicket-keeper Farokh Engineer scored a century and a half-century respectively in two innings against England. He made 121 runs in the first innings and 66 runs in the second innings.
Similarly, Pant (203) became the third Indian wicketkeeper, who scored the highest number of runs in a single Test. Budhi Kundaran is in the first position with 230 runs, while MS Dhoni is in the second position with 224 runs.
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant disclosed the secret behind the massive 222-run stand between him and Ravindra Jadeja and said that it was possible due to "setting small goals" and excellent communication between them on Day one of the match.
