Hyderabad, June 28: The Telangana government credited Rs 586.66 crore into the accounts of 19.98 lakh farmers, who are holding one acre or less, on the first day as part of the Rythu Bandhu scheme.

In series of tweets, Finance and Health Minister Harish Rao on Tuesday said that farmers are appreciating Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for extending support to them despite facing hurdles from the Modi government at Centre.

The minister mentioned that Rs 7,521 crore financial assistance will be given to 68.10 lakh farmers in Kharif season. He claimed that the TRS government is pro-farmer. Compared to previous Kharif season, the financial aid to farmers increased by Rs 161 crore.

Harish said that the state government is committed to welfare of farmers. In the latest annual Budget, the KCR government allotted Rs 14,800 crore towards Rythu Bandhu. “Telangana state is being ruled by son of a farmer,” he stated.
