AP techies held for drug trafficking
Yadadri, May 31: Rachakonda police held two software engineers of Andhra Pradesh while transporting drugs. They were nabbed in Choutuppal of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.
According to Chotuppal CI N Srinivas, Vatturi Surya Sampath of Gollalamamidada village, Peddapudi mandal, Kakinada district and Teegala Deepak Phanindra of Morampudi Sainagar of Rajamahendravaram of AP State are software engineers and has been working from home in Rajamahendravaram for some time.
They got addicted to drugs and purchased MDMA drugs (25 tablets) and two strips of LSD from an unidentified person in Goa on May 25. They reached Hyderabad in a bus and left to Rajamahendravaram in a lorry at Pedda Amberpet ORR.
Based on reliable information, police stopped the lorry at Choutuppal bus stand on May 28 and took Surya Sampanth and Deepak Phanindra into custody. Drugs and two mobiles were recovered from them and a case was registered.
Police said that the drugs seized from them are worth Rs 2.35 lakh. The accused will consume and also sell to others.
The accused were produced before Choutuppal court on Sunday night and shifted to Nalgonda jail.
