Kaka cremated with police honors as Rahul Gandhi attends funeral

Hyderabad, Dec 23, 2014: The final rites of senior Congress leader G.Venkata Swamy, also known as Kaka among his followers, were performed at the Panjagutta burial ground this afternoon with police honours. Venkata Swamy breathed his last at a private hospital in Hyderabad last night. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, along with some senior Congress leaders, attended the funeral of Venkata Swamy as thousands followed his final journey from his residence. Earlier, KCR and Chandrababu, Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh respectively had visited the mortal remains of Kaka and paid their last respects. YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, several ministers of AP and Telangana , also paid their last respects to the senior Congress leader.
