TDP woman leader held in ganja smuggling case

Amaravathi, May 16: TDP leader Manukonda Jahnavi was arrested on Sunday, who is accused in ganja illegal transport. A case was filed against Jahnavi in 2013 and she is absconding. LB Nagar, Hyderabad, court has issued non-bailable warrant against Jahnavi. Police arrested her in Narasaraopet in Andhra Pradesh and produced her before the court. She was sent for judicial remand.
 
TDP leader Jahnavi used to live in Suraram Colony, Hyderabad a few years back. She allegedly made an agreement with one Mr Kishore of Visakhapatnam to transport ganja from G Madugula of Visakha agency area to Shirdi in Maharashtra. 
 
Dundigal police nabbed her driver Suresh Reddy and Kishore at Suraram Chowrasta while they were transporting ganja. 42 kg ganja was recovered from them. Since then Jahnavi was on the run and LB Nagar court issued non-bailable warrant. 
 
TDP disciplinary committee chairman Bachula Arjunudu suspended Jahnavi from the party. He said that the suspension will continue till the final verdict.
