Case filed against TDP leader for attacking woman officer

Chilakaluripet, May 15: A case was filed against TDP leader and former Minister Pattipati Pulla Rao for attacking a municipal employee, in Chilakaluripet.
 
Led by Pulla Rao, TDP leaders allegedly attacked a woman officer during a water plant reopening.
 
According to information, the then TDP Minister P Pulla Rao had inaugurated water plant under NTR Sujala Sravanthi scheme beside old drinking water pond in Chilakaluripet town. This plant is not working for the past three years. But, it was campaigned in the media that this plant will be reopened on Thursday. Also, two bore wells were dug in the municipal land.
 
After receiving information about this, municipal officers issued notices on Thursday, stating that permission was not given for digging up bores and not to take up any works. They also filed a complaint with the police.
 
Even then, Pattipati Pulla Rao along with his followers came to reopen the water plant. Municipal Town Planning Supervisor Kodirekka Sunitha, Revenue Officer Phani Kumar and other officials explained to the former Minister that there is no permission for borewell and water plant. Urban CI G Rajeswar Rao and SIs tried to stop the TDP leaders, who entered into an altercation with the police and civic officials. They attacked Sunitha, who received severe injuries on shoulder and back.
