2 groups of YSRCP clash over land dispute

Rayachoti, May 15: Two groups of the ruling YSRCP clashed over land disputes and tense situation prevailed in Lakkireddypalli of Annamayya district on Saturday. 
 
According to police, Srinivasulu Reddy, YSRCP leader and brother-in-law of Chinnamandem mandal ZPTC former member Meghana, purchased 1.05 acre in Lakkireddypalli in 2019. As demand for this land increased, Lakkireddypalli YSRCP MPP M Sudarshan Reddy’s followers M Narasimha Raju and Sabhapati Naidu purchased the same land from the earlier land owners in 2022. This means two persons have registered same land on their names.
 
Narasimha Raju and Sabhapathi Naidu marked the land as plots. After knowing this, Srinivasulu Reddy went to court and got orders to his benefit. While Srinivasulu Reddy and his followers were working on the land on Saturday, MPP Sudarshan Reddy followers went there. 
 
After informed about this, police also reached the spot. Even when cops were trying to disperse the two groups, the ruling party leaders hurled stones at each other. As many as seven persons were injured.
 
Rayachoti DSP P Sridhar and Lakkireddypalli CI G Raju rushed to the spot and dispersed the clashing mobs. Srinivasulu Reddy’s vehicle was damaged in the incident. Police found out weapons in the vehicle.
 
Police recovered the licensed revolvers of Srinivasulu Reddy and Sudarshan Reddy.
 
Cases were registered on several persons in this regard.
