Jilted lover torches building in MP

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), May 8: Furious over love rejection, a youth torched a building in Madhya Pradesh. Nine persons living in different flats in the 3-storey building were charred to death while another nine persons received severe burn injuries. They were undergoing treatment in local hospitals. 
 
Police said based on CCTV cameras footage, they found out that Sanjay alias Subham Deekshith was in love with a girl. When he confessed his love to her, she rejected him. In a fit of anger, he put fire to the three-floored building at Vijay Nagar area in Indore in the early hours of Saturday. After searching footage of about 50 CCTV cameras, police confirmed Sanjay as the culprit. They said, Sanjay came to the building in the early hours and put fire to the petrol tank of a scooter. Flames spread all the parking area and engulfed the building also. Several people living in the flats died due to asphyxiation.
 
A few persons jumped out of their balconies and windows and received severe injuries. 
 
It came to know that Sanjay returned to the building one hour later and tried to destroy CCTV cameras. After futile attempts, he absconded from there.
 
Police said the girl is safe and searching for the accused.
