Anantapur: Girl cheated by SI commits suicide, cop in police custody

Anantapur, May 7: A degree college student consumed pesticide-laced drink at G. A. Kottala village in Pamidi mandal in Anantapur district. The girl was identified as Saraswathi. Immediately, she was shifted to government hospital in Anantapur. Saraswathi told her parents that she took extreme step as she was cheated by Chandragiri SI Vijay Kumar Naik in the name of love and marriage. 
She died in the hospital while undergoing treatment. 
 
Father of the deceased submitted a complaint at Pamidi police station. The police registered a case against SI and took him into custody at Chandragiri in Tirupati district and brought him to Anantapur on the instructions of Anantapur SP Dr. K. Fakkeerappa.
 
Prior to appointment as SI, there are allegations that the accused also misbehaved with a woman while he was working as an employee on outsource basis in Guntakal. The cops are suspecting that SI also trapped a woman in G.A. Kottala.
