Suryapet, April 28: NRI couple died in a road accident in Suryapet district in the early hours of Wednesday. The couple along with their two children was on their way to meet their parents in Reddygudem mandal of NTR district in Andhra Pradesh.
Peddagamalla Hemabaradhar (42), his wife Rajitha (39) went to Australia 11 years ago and settled there. They have daughter Bhavagna (9) and son Pharwith (6). They usually come to India to meet their parents every year, but for the past two years, they couldn’t come due to Covid-19 effect.
Hemabaradhar couldn’t come to India when his father died six months ago. As there are no corona cases, the couple along with the children came to Hyderabad from Australia on April 25. After doing some shopping in the city, they started to Reddygudem in a car on Tuesday night.
Due to over speed, the car hit the divider near Tirumalagiri of Chivvemla mandal, Suryapet district. In this mishap, both husband and wife died on the spot. Children and drive Tirupati Rao received severe injuries.
Police shifted the bodies and the injured to government general hospital in Suryapet. Later driver was shifted to Vijayawada for better treatment.
