79 cocaine-filled capsules recovered from stomach of a Tanzanian national.

Hyderabad: DRI officials recovered 79 cocaine filled capsules from the stomach of Tanzanian national at Samshabad airport.

The 44-year-old man came to Hyderabad from Johannesburg on April 21 in Emirates flight. Based on intelligence information, DRI officials took him into custody. During interrogation, he informed that he came to Johannesburg from Tanzania and before coming to India, he went to Proteria and swallowed cocaine capsules. The passenger said that he was directed to keep the capsules in his stomach for three to four days and later deliver to another person. Officials removed 22 cocaine filled capsules from his stomach. Another 57 capsules were removed through surgery in hospital. 79 capsules are having 1,157 grams cocaine and the market value will be about Rs 11.57 crores, the officials informed.

The officials booked a case against the passenger under NDPS Act 1985 and sent him to remand.

 Further investigation is going on.
