Minister in Jagan's Cabinet admits to rampant corruption in Endowments dept
Amaravati: Kottu Satyanarayana, who was inducted into the Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s Cabinet as the Minister of Endowments after the reshuffle, assumed duties as the Minister in Amaravati on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister admitted to rampant corruption in the Endowments department. He said he would strive to eradicate the graft from the department.
The Minister inaugurated the Endowment department office in Vijayawada on Monday after assuming office as the Minister of Endowments. The Minister also made key remarks on the occasion. The Minister said that from now onwards, priority will be accorded to the common man in temples though the importance being given to VIPs cannot be completely sidelined at once, but will be done in a phased manner.
The Minster’s statement on corruption in the Endowments department created a flutter though everybody is aware of the graft, the statement coming from the Minister belonging to the department proves the fact that the department needs to be given an overhaul so that the money generated from the temples can be used for their development and a facelift can be given to those temples, which are in a dilapidated condition.
