Cong seeks Guv’s intervention against CM KCR’s erratic governance

A delegation led by TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy met Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan in Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum to her. Talking to reporters, he has mentioned that the Congress has requested her to direct the Telangana government to procure entire paddy stock produced by farmers in Yasangi.

Revanth has alleged that the TRS government did not hand over the procured rice to the Food Corporation of India (FCI) last year. The TPCC chief accused the Centre of not responding when 8.34 lakh tonnes of rice worth Rs 2,600 crore had not accounted.

The Congress leader further said that farmers have sold their paddy to rice millers for 30 per cent less than the support price. “They have suffered a loss of Rs 2,000 crore,” he mentioned and added that the Congress delegation has requested the Governor to impress upon the KCR government for payment of crop loss money to farmers.
