KCR rules out early polls in Telangana

Hyderabad: TRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao ruled out early elections in Telangana. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that he will not opt for early polls as he did in 2018. After convening a meeting with party leaders, KCR also stated that he is working with noted political strategist Prashant Kishor.

KCR said that Prashant Kishor is not a money-maker and pointed out that he has been friends with PK for the last eight years and he has been working for TRS as per his wish.

He recalled that he had earlier said that the BJP, which was in power at the Centre, would lose strength in the Uttar Pradesh elections. The BJP, which had won 312 seats in the past, is now limited to 255 seats. KCR commented that the BJP should think about what is the sign of the reduction in seats.

KCR demanded that there should be a single procurement policy with regard to paddy procurement. He alleged that the Centre had caused problems in the procurement of paddy in the past as well. He demanded that the Centre buy rabi crops cultivated in Telangana.
