Japanese billionaire expresses solidarity with Ukraine, donates Rs 65 crore

Hyderabad: World support for Ukraine, which was fighting against Russia's invasion, is steadily increasing. Already, EU countries are supplying weapons. Recently, the Japanese billionaire Hiroshi Mikitani announced a huge donation to Ukraine. Mikitani, the founder of the e-Commerce company Rakuten, has announced that he will provide Rs 65 crore to war-torn Ukraine. Mikitani described Russia's aggression as a challenge to democracy. To this end, he wrote a letter to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He said the donation was made in a friendly manner to the people of Ukraine affected by the violence. Mikitani revealed that he visited Kiev in 2019 and met Zelenskyy. He explained that he was standing by the people of Ukraine in the current crisis.

He further added that he was "deeply concerned" about the unjust repression of Ukraine, a peaceful and democratic country. He hoped that Russia and Ukraine would resolve the issue peacefully soon
