Telugu students safe in Ukraine, says AP Education Minister
Amaravati: With the Russian attack on Ukraine, the people of that country as well as other nationals, who went to that country, have been living with fear for a long time. Among them are 20,000 Indians and the majority of them are from Telugu states, who went to study in Ukraine.
On the other hand, with Russia bombing Ukraine, the parents of Telugu students are worrying about what will happen to their children. Minister for Education Audimulapu Suresh said that all Telugu students are safe in Ukraine. The Minister spoke to the students on the phone in Ukraine.
He later told the media that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy had already written a letter to the Centre for Telugu students' safety. He disclosed that the Centre was trying to deport students safely from Ukraine. At present, air services in Ukraine were cancelled, the minister said.
He said a nodal officer and a special officer have been appointed to help the students. He said the authorities at the AP Bhavan in Delhi have been alerted.
