Karnataka HC on hijab row: Hearing adjourned to Monday

Bengaluru: A three-judge bench of the Karnataka High Court on Thursday heard a petition filed by the Karnataka government seeking a ban on students wearing the hijab.

Students were ordered not to wear religious outfits as long as the issue was pending with the court. It directed that educational institutions can be opened. The next hearing was adjourned to Monday.

The High Court on Wednesday constituted a three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Justice Krishna S Dixit and Justice Jaibunnisa M Khazi to hear the petition.
