Rahul Gandhi speaks out against Centre, Mamata

Not being in power either at the Centre or in many States is giving much leeway to attack both the Centre and States for the Congress. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi used the opportunity in Howrah at an election rally on Saturday, blaming both the Centre and the States for making false promises to win the elections while indulging in corruption. Rahul was severe on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Referring to the Sharada chit fund scam, he said the West Bengal government had looted the small people. In the name of Sharada chit funds, the Maata government leaders had appropriated the hard-earned savings of the poor people. He pointed out that in the past, when the people wanted jobs, they would go to West Bengal. Now the people of West Bengal were looking for jobs outside their State. The joblessness of West Bengal is credited to `the bando karo' culture ushered in by the successive Marxist governments in the State by economists. Even the small car project of the Tatas was shifted to Gujarat during the Marxist-Mamata transition.
