TRS wins in Warangal, Khammam

The ruling TRS in Telangana continues its winning spree in the civic bodies polls in the State. It has now in its kitty the Greater Warangal and Khammam Corporations as well. There is one difference, however. In the latest polls, the opposition parties also cornered a few seats. In Greater Warangal, the ruling TRS won 29 seats, followed by independents in 4 seats, BJP in three and the BJP in one. In Khammam Corporation, the TRS won 30 seats so far and captured power. The Congress won six seats and the YCP of Jaganmohan Reddy two divisions and one seat each was won by the CPI and the CPM. Significantly, the TDP has not won a single seat anywhere in these corporations. The party founded by NT Rama Rao seems to have all but been fogotten in Telangana.
