Six helipads to handle Oct 22 air traffic

Vijayawada, Oct 04: Krishna District Collector Ahmed Babu has directed the officials to construct six helipads in and around Vijayawada to handle the air traffic on stone laying ceremony day for AP capital Amaravati on October 22. It may be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and delegates from Singapore, Japan and other foreign countries would attend the programme. The Collector ordered the officials to increase flight services connecting various cities in India with Vijayawada airport. The state government is planning to organise the event on a grand note. Officials will visit the houses of farmers who gave their land to capital city and invite them to the ceremony. About one lakh people are expected to attend the event.
