Congress rules out replacing Jana Reddy

Hyderabad, July 11: AICC secretary RC Khuntia refuted the reports that he had sought MLAs opinion for replacing Jana Reddy as leader of Congress Legislature Party (CLP). Speaking to the reporters here, Khuntia ruled out changes in the party leadership and added that the party has no plans to replace Jana Reddy as CLP leader. Khuntia alleged that leaders like D Srinivas were defecting from the party for power. He said that DS’s defection will not weaken the party. He said that efforts were on to strengthen the party in the State. The party has set a target of 50 lakh membership in the State and it would reach half the target by the month end. Khuntia said that Rahul Gandhi will organize 10-km padayatra in Anantapur on July 24. The party has not finalized candidate for Warangal Lok Sabha seat by-poll, he said. "We will organize Iftar parties across the State on the occasion of Ramzan," he added.
