Telangana Faces Crop Damage from Hailstorm; Rain Expected Until Monday

Several areas in Telangana experienced light to moderate rainfall yesterday, with some regions witnessing hailstorms that caused significant damage to crops. Districts including Nizamabad, Medak, Siddipet, Mancherial, and Kumram Bheem Asifabad reported moderate rainfall. The highest rainfall was recorded in Muthol, Nirmal district, at 2 centimeters.

The hailstorms resulted in severe damage to paddy and mango crops. In a tragic incident, an elderly man named Chandekar Daulat (79) died when a house wall collapsed in Nagoumbasti, Kagaznagar town.

Due to the impact of a surface trough, weather conditions in Hyderabad turned cooler from yesterday morning, with overcast skies causing maximum temperatures to drop to 35.8 degrees Celsius, providing some relief to residents.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in various parts of the state from today until Monday. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds are likely to occur in the districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Sangareddy, and Mahabubnagar.
