IPL 2025: Nitish Reddy Passes Fitness Test, Set to Join Sunrisers Hyderabad Camp

Sunrisers Hyderabad has received a major boost ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as Telugu cricketer Nitish Reddy has fully recovered from his muscle injury. Reddy, who had missed the Champions Trophy due to the injury, has now passed the Yo-Yo fitness test with a score of 18, clearing his path to rejoin the squad.
Last season, Sunrisers Hyderabad reached the IPL final but suffered a defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders. However, this year, the team appears stronger in both the batting and bowling departments. With Nitish Reddy’s return, their lineup has gained further depth.
The IPL 2025 season is set to begin on March 22. Sunrisers Hyderabad had retained Nitish Reddy during the IPL mega auction. He is expected to join the team's pre-tournament camp starting today. In the previous IPL season, Reddy delivered an impressive performance, scoring 303 runs and taking three wickets in 13 matches. On Friday, he participated in a practice match and bowled without any discomfort, signaling his full recovery.
The 25-year-old cricketer made his international debut for India in a T20 match against Bangladesh. He also holds the distinction of becoming the first Indian player to score a century while batting at No. 8 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia last year.
Nitish Reddy made his IPL debut in 2023 but struggled in his initial season, failing to score runs or take wickets in his two appearances. However, in the following edition, he emerged as a key player for Sunrisers Hyderabad, playing a crucial role in their journey to the finals.
