Jayalalithaa’s Assets, Including Gold and Land, to Be Transferred to TN Government

A Bengaluru special court has ordered the transfer of the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s assets to the Tamil Nadu government on February 14 and 15. Special Court Judge H.A. Mohan issued the directive to officials, ensuring the handover of assets located within Karnataka’s jurisdiction.

The assets to be transferred include 1,562 acres of land, 27 kilograms of gold, 10,000 sarees, 750 pairs of footwear, and a collection of watches. These assets, initially valued at ₹913 crore when seized by the Tamil Nadu government a decade ago, are now estimated to be worth over ₹4,000 crore based on current market valuations.

Recently, the Karnataka High Court dismissed petitions filed by J. Deepa and J. Deepak, who had claimed to be Jayalalithaa’s legal heirs and sought rights over the properties. With this ruling, the Tamil Nadu government will now take possession of the entire estate.
