The Role of Telugu People in National Politics is Declining: CM Revanth Reddy

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attended the 12th World Telugu Federation Conference held in Hyderabad, where he emphasized the significance of protecting the Telugu language, culture, and identity. He remarked that Telugu is the most widely spoken language in India after Hindi and highlighted the urgent need to safeguard its existence and heritage.

"Earlier, several prominent Telugu leaders played key roles in national politics. Leaders like Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, P.V. Narasimha Rao, N.T. Rama Rao, Kaka Venkataswamy, Jaipal Reddy, and Venkaiah Naidu significantly contributed to the country’s political landscape. While Telugu people have excelled in politics, cinema, and commerce, we must not forget our language. It is good to acquire knowledge of other languages, but we must also respect our mother tongue," said Revanth Reddy.

He also highlighted the Telangana government’s initiatives to promote Telugu, mentioning, "We recently issued the farm loan waiver order in Telugu. Similarly, having judicial verdicts in Telugu will be highly beneficial for many people."

Further, Revanth Reddy underscored the need for development in both Telugu-speaking states. "Both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh must progress to compete with the world. Under the slogan ‘Telangana Rising’ and with strategic development plans, we are moving forward. We are planning to develop Hyderabad into a world-class ‘Future City.’ We urge Telugu people settled abroad to invest in Telangana and support the state’s development. The government is prepared to offer single-window clearances for those willing to bring in investments," he explained.
