KTR Slams Revanth Reddy Over Telangana Thalli statue Controversy

BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has stated that Telangana will regain its rightful position in four years, criticizing the actions and policies of current Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Speaking at a press meet held at Telangana Bhavan, KTR strongly defended the symbolism of "Telangana Thalli" (Mother Telangana), which was conceptualized and brought to life by former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).

KTR expressed confidence that the symbolic Telangana Thalli statue will remain in its rightful place. He criticized attempts to alter or undermine its representation, emphasizing its cultural and historical importance to the people of Telangana. Drawing a parallel, KTR pointed out that even during political transitions in India, statues such as Bharat Mata installed by Indira Gandhi were not changed, including during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's tenure as Prime Minister. Similarly, he stated that icons like Telangana Thalli should remain untouched, regardless of who is in power.

Issuing a stern warning, KTR said that changing the form of Telangana Thalli out of political rivalry or anger toward KCR would not be forgiven by history. He reminded the current administration that political power is not permanent and accused them of attempting to erase the contributions of the Telangana movement led by KCR and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

KTR also criticized Revanth Reddy’s government for prioritizing divisive political theatrics over critical issues like the Ambedkar Secretariat and the Police Command Control Room. He called for respect toward symbols like Telangana Thalli, which was created during the 2007 Telangana movement as a representation of the state’s aspirations for self-governance and development.

Concluding his remarks, KTR urged the Revanth Reddy administration to focus on governance and development instead of altering symbols of Telangana’s history. He reaffirmed the BRS party’s commitment to preserving the state’s legacy and its cultural identity.
