Toxic Gas Leak at Vizag's Tagore Pharma: CM Chandrababu Ensures Support for Victims
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has inquired about the toxic gas leak incident at Tagore Pharma Laboratories in Parawada, Visakhapatnam. He sought details from the officials and directed them to ensure that the affected individuals receive the best medical care. He also emphasized that the government will extend full support to the victims. The CM instructed district authorities and the concerned ministers to personally oversee the relief measures provided to the victims.
In the gas leak incident at Tagore Labs, nine people fell ill, and among them, a worker named Amit (23) from Odisha lost his life. District Collector Vijaya Krishnan stated that the condition of six others is stable, while two workers are being treated on ventilators. She further mentioned that the Inspector of Factories has been directed to inspect the accident site, and CCTV footage from the premises is being collected for investigation. It was revealed that liquid HCl (hydrochloric acid) leaked from a reactor-cum-receiver tank.
Meanwhile, State Home Minister Anitha expressed her anger over the incident at the Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City in Parawada. She criticized the industrial management for their negligence, despite repeated instructions to prioritize safety measures.
