'No One Expected This': KTR's Strong Criticism on Governance

In a recent incident in Dhanwada Mandal of Narayanpet district, elderly citizens took to the streets, protesting delays in the distribution of pensions. This sparked a strong reaction from BRS Working President and former minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), who expressed his anguish on the issue.

The elderly protestors staged a dharna, demanding timely pension disbursements, as delays had become a recurring issue. Responding to the situation, KTR shared his thoughts on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

KTR remarked, "Who would have thought this would happen? Who imagined that elderly citizens in Telangana would have to protest on the streets for their pensions, or that the funds which were supposed to be credited smoothly into their accounts would be stalled?"

He further criticized, stating, "While ₹1.5 lakh crore is allocated for beautifying the Musi River, the pension funds meant for the elderly are withheld mercilessly. Who anticipated such a scenario?"

KTR highlighted the plight of the elderly, saying, "From the days when they no longer had to beg their children or daughters-in-law for expenses, we are now witnessing a painful reversal where they are forced to plead again. Who foresaw this so-called ‘change’ taking such a regressive turn?"

Drawing parallels with past hardships, KTR lamented, "In the ruthless era of Indiramma’s rule, troubles plagued every household. Who could have imagined a revival of such widespread difficulties? Who predicted that the promise of change would end up being so deceptive?"
