Amaravati: TDP leader Budda Venkanna has challenged YSRCP leader Jagan Mohan Reddy to resign from his MLA position and face a by-election using the ballot paper system. This challenge comes in response to Jagan's recent comments questioning the reliability of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Venkanna asserted that if a by-election were held using ballots, Jagan would not achieve the same majority as before and claimed that the people of Pulivendula would defeat him. He advised Jagan to stop making baseless predictions.

In the recent elections, the YSRCP suffered a significant defeat, winning only 11 seats. Since then, YSRCP leaders have been alleging issues with EVMs. Jagan's recent tweet, which echoed comments by tech giant Elon Musk about the potential for EVMs to be hacked, sparked this challenge. Jagan called for future elections to be conducted using ballot papers. TDP leaders quickly responded, sharing a video of Jagan previously defending EVMs during the last election.
