Amaravati: The arrest of Sarath, son of TDP senior leader and former minister Prathipati Pulla Rao, today in a GST evasion case has come to light. He is currently under the custody of Vijayawada police, accused by the GST department of tax evasion and involvement in money laundering activities. Based on a complaint by GST officials, the police arrested him.

Reacting to the arrest, Prathipati Pulla Rao expressed his outrage, alleging that his son was unjustly arrested on fabricated charges. He clarified that his son was neither a director nor a shareholder in any company and questioned the basis of linking his son to GST evasion. He accused the political opponents of trying to smear them with false allegations ahead of elections, asserting that they are not afraid of illegal cases and will fight back legally. Prathipati criticized Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for resorting to low-level politics out of fear of electoral defeat, noting that YCP could not find a worthy candidate to contest against him in Chilakaluripet.

He confidently stated that his victory in Chilakaluripet was assured and attributed the failures of Minister Vidudala Rajani as the reason for YCP's impending defeat. "This case is the epitome of Jagan Mohan Reddy's political malfeasance. Despite having no connection with the company, my son Sarath Babu was wrongly implicated in this case. This case was registered just a few hours after Nara Chandrababu Naidu confirmed my candidacy, indicating it's politically motivated.

If Jagan Mohan Reddy thinks he can weaken our resolve by targeting our family members, he's mistaken. We are not intimidated by your tactics. The harassment you've been subjecting us to for the past four years is nothing compared to the challenges we've faced. The days of ousting you from the public domain are approaching, which is why you resort to such actions," Prathipati declared.
