New district with Vijayawada as HQ in the offing?

Vijayawada, Jan 1, 2015: Andhra Pradesh Government is mulling over carving out a new district with Vijayawada as headquarters. The new district is likely to be formed out of the 58 Mandals of Guntur and Krishna districts falling in the Capital Region Development Authority. If formed , several villages of the present Guntur and Krishna districts will become part of the new district that will exclusively be connected to the Capital city. According to media reports, Government has already asked the concerned officials to prepare a plan to form the new district.
