Missing new-born traced to Avanigadda, minister pats cops

The missing new-born baby from the Old Government Hospital in Vijayawada was traced to Avanigadda in Krishna district on Friday night. The baby was lifted from the incubator after breaking the glass door. The baby continued to be in the hospital because of symptoms of jaundice. The baby has been handed over to its parents, Kalyani and Subramaniam. The baby-lifters have been arrested and now faced severe punishment. The baby-lifting was severely flayed by opposition parties. The embarrassed government deployed six police teams to catch the culprits. There were also demands of the resignation by Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas. The minister pointedly questioned on Saturday why none of the opposition leaders was saying a word after the baby was restored to its parents. He remarked that the opposition parties had better respond to good news with the same speed as bad news. He personally patted the police who caught hold of the baby lifters in 36 hours. Srinivas also proposed smart tags to a new mother and the new-born as a way out of baby-lifting which has long been occurring in the capital region.
