Woman in police posters about missing baby protests

The Vijayawada baby-lifting case took a new turn on Friday with a woman protesting against the police putting up posters all over the capital region in which the woman taking a baby resembles her, and the poster reads `Woman with Missing Baby.' Following the appearance of the Missing posters, the woman went to a TV channel and said she had no knowledge of the missing child. She said she had given birth to her baby in a Guntur hospital 5 months ago. If the authorities so wanted she could establish her motherhood of her baby. She was even prepared for a DNA test. If the police continued with the campaign, she was prepared to file a damage suit against the authorities. A new-born baby was missing from the incubator in the old Government Hospital in Vijayawada and the police are on the look out for the baby. Health Minister has meanwhile come out with a proposal for attaching smart tags to a mother and her baby to ensure against baby-lifting which is frequent in the capital region.
