Bezawada people to take out rally to protest against temple demolitions

The people of Vijayawada are going to protest against the destruction of three old temples in One Town in the name of road development by the government by taking out a big rally on Monday. The slogan of the rally is `Divinity is more important than so-called development.' Forty Hindu religious heads from the 13 districts in the State are expected to participate in the rally. Rumours had it that even the Ganesh temple on Canal road was also going to be demolished. This triggered such a public reaction that the government came down and promised to rebuild the destroyed temples. The rally will start from the Ganesh temple. Today's rally will see the idols from the demolished temples to be taken out in a procession. People in large numbers are expected to take part in the rally.
