Vangaveeti Radha held in Vijayawada

The Andhra capital region witnessed tension following the arrest of Vangaveeti Radha on Wednesday in connection with a demonstration. Radha, YCP convenor in Vijayawada, led a demonstration by the people of suburban Singhnagar, demanding the restart of registrations of the houses of the poor in the locality. The police told the YCP leader to refrain from the demonstration because it had no permission. There were arguments in this regard and Radha refused to heed and hence was arrested. The police made Radha get into their van and took him to Payakaraopeta police station. The demonstrators gathered at the police station and demanded that their leader be released forthwith. The incident caused tension in the area.
