Sonia, Rahul & Manmohan held, freed in Delhi

Top Congress leaders, having stashed away kickbacks in defence deals, on Friday organised a `save decmocracy protest march from Jantar Mantar in Delhi, and were arrested as they led the protest towards Parliament House. The arrested leaders, including party president Sonia Gandhi, vice-president Rahul Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh were detained briefly as the partymen started to storm the police station. They were later released. The Congress was protesting, among other things, against BJP's anti-democratic policies in Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The Congress is mainly worried about its top leadership being caught in AgustWestland helicopters kickbacks scam. Their leaders' names figured in the chits and receipts of middlemen who stalked the helicopters deal in Italy. Having got no escape route because their names were mentioned abroad as the recipients of kickbacks, they are a worried lot. Since the attack is the best form of defence, the top Congress leadership took to the streets in Delhi on Friday.
