Argentina sinks threatening Chinese fishing boat
China is showing its naval prowess in the Pacific by threatening an Argentine Coast guard ship while fishing illegally in the South American waters. The Chinese fishing boat, Lu Yan Uuan Yu 010, threatened to collide with the Argentine Coast Guard ship when it fired warning shots to ward off the fishing boat. When the offending boat performed certain manoeuvres designed to force a collision, the Coast Guard was ordered to shoot parts of the Chinese vessel. Then the Argentine Coast Guard chased and sank the Chinese vessel, rescuing all the 32 personnel on the fishing boat. Beijing expressed its serious concern over the sinking of its fishing boat and demanded a thorough investigation into the incident by Argentina.
