4 Metro corridors proposed in AP capital region

The new capital of Andhra Pradesh at Amaravati will have four Metro corridors. This is the decision of the AP Government. The corridors will have a total length of 108.17 km. The Master Plan for the proposed corridors will have a link with Vijayawada as the first corridor and Guntur linking the capital region as the fourth corridor. The Master Plan has taken into account the future growth needs of the capital region. The Master Plan will integrate the Metro project meant for Vijayawada. The total Master Plan is estimated to cost Rs.24,000 crores. The AP government had sanctioned Rs.5 crore for the Amaravati Metro Rail Corporation towards 2015 year-end. Fast tracking the project, the government had resolved that finances would be no constraint to the implementation of the project.
