Dilsukhnagar blast accused: Trial in prison?
Hyderabad, August 7: The visit of a Magistrate to the Cherlapally Central Prison on Thursday indicates the conducting of the trial of Yasin Bhatkal (32), accused in Dilsukhnagar blasts, inside the jail premises itself. Indian Mujahideen (IM) co-founder Mohammed Ahmed Siddibapa alias Yasin Bhatkal was accused in the twin blasts in Dilsukhnagar on February 21, 2015, which killed 18 people and injured 131 people. Yasin is in Cherlapally jail. He reportedly told his wife over phone from the jail that he would be out soon with 'help from Damascus'. He also threw some papers out of the court premises, which were believed to be letters to the media about an alleged threat to his life. The jail authorities denied that Bhatkal is planning for an escape, but at the same time they don't want to take chance. In this situation, officials are considering to conduct Yasin's trial inside the prison itself. And the Additional Magistrate of LB Nagar inspected the court hall in the jail to check the feasibility of conducting the trial inside the prison. Trial inside prison was held in 2002-04, in a case of church blast case conducted by Deendar Anjuman, a Muslim organisation.
