Kadiyam faults Naidu for seeking share of seats in Warangal NIT
Hyderabad, May 19, 2015: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari asked AP Government not to seek seats in the Warangal NIT for its students. Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, Srihari said AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been trying to seek quota of seats in Warangal NIT using his clout with the Centre. "Warangal NIT belongs to Telangana. AP is not justified in seeking share of seats in it. It is not good for AP to seek seats in it even after the state is bifurcated," he remarked. AP Government's arguments do no carry any weight under Article 371-D, Srihari pointed out , saying Telangana will approach a competent court of law if AP persists in its stand. "In the past, seats were allotted based on population ratio. As per the admission programme released by NIT, AP can not claim share in the seats, " he explained. The main reason for the birth of Telangana agitation lies in the injustice done to Telangana students in the admissions to higher education institutions, medical, engineering and technical colleges, he reasoned and remarked."How can AP claim a share in the seats of Warangal NIT now?"
