Hyderabad, Jan 25: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday said that the Covid-19 vaccination was launched with an aim to give protection to frontline warriors on a priority basis.

“The vaccination is being given not for testing. It is for protecting our doctors, healthcare workers, and other medical staff on a priority basis. It is like thanks giving for their services during the pandemic,” she added.

The Governor was launching the Covid-19 vaccination for doctors and healthcare workers at the ESI Hospital and Medical College, here.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan stated that it was a truly proud moment for India to come up with our own vaccine and help many other countries by supplying our vaccine.

“We are supplying our Made in India vaccine to countries like Brazil, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and many other nations. The vaccine development is a great testimony to our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat getting translated into reality,” she added.

Governor Message to the people on the occasion of Republic Day on January 26th, 2021:

'The Constitution of India came into effect on this very day in the year 1950.

71 years ago, India has become a Republic country, where the people have the collective power to design their destiny.

This is the day to celebrate our democratic and Republic country and be proud of its sovereignty.

I offer my greatest tributes to Baba Saheb Dr. BR Ambedkar and other architects of our great Indian Constitution that enshrined the noble principles of liberty, equality, and fraternity.

We must be proud of our Constitution, our heritage, and our shared values.

I am happy that Telangana, the youngest State of our country, is making rapid strides of development in all sectors.

The Telangana State has attracted huge investments from the world’s top companies for which the vibrant city of Hyderabad has become an important destination.

I am delighted that the Hyderabad is emerging as the pharmaceutical hub, IT hub, and as the hub of the life sciences in our country.

It is a worthwhile achievement for the newly carved State to be among the Top 5 States on the India Innovation Index-2020 released by the NITI Aayog.

With the combined and well-coordinated efforts of the Government of India and the State Government, the spread of Covid-19 was effectively contained and resulted in the lowest test positivity rate, as well as the lowest case fatality rate, while registering higher recovery rate.

I salute all the frontline warriors of the Covid-19 for their relentless and selfless services since the outbreak of the Covid-19.
I am very proud that Hyderabad has developed “Covaxin”, an indigenous vaccine for the Covid-19.

Overcoming the decades of negligence and backwardness, the Telangana State has emerged as a role model in many sectors of development.

The Telangana State has unveiled a plethora of innovative, unique, and people-oriented schemes and as well as programmes for the welfare of the people and development of the State.

Telangana has emerged as a role model for its initiatives in IT, irrigation, agriculture, power, drinking water supply, palle pragathi, pattana pragathi, Telanganaku Haritha Haram, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, and other welfare schemes like Aasara Pensions, Arogya Lakshmi, Kalyana Lakshmi-Shadi Mubarak, and KCR Kit etc.,

The Telangana State is also setting a trend with the series of reforms like TS b-PASS, TS-iPASS, Dharani Portal for the effective delivery of services in a hassle-free manner.

The State government has also brought in new Panchayati Raj, Municipalities, and Revenue acts and carved the smaller administrative units from the district level to the mandal level so as to bring the administration closer to the common people and offer efficient, speedy, corruption-free, transparent and accountable services.

The Government has successfully launched many flagship programmes aimed at all-round development of the State and welfare of all sections of the people.

I am happy that the initiatives like Mission Kakathiya have resulted in the increase of the ground water levels, while the Mission Bhagiratha in ensuring free supply of the drinking water to majority of the population.

The Kaleshwaram project, which is considered as the largest multistage lift irrigation project in the world, has revolutionized the irrigation and agriculture sectors in the State resulting in a bountiful crop this season. The State accounted for a massive cultivation of paddy in a record 1.04 crore acres, and accounted for 55 per cent of the total paddy procured by the FCI in the entire country. Thus Telangana has now come to be known as the Rice Bowl of India.

With sustained initiatives to transform the State into Bangaru Telangana, the State is definitely marching ahead towards progress, peace, and prosperity.

I once again extend my heartiest wishes to you all on the eve of our 72nd Republic Day celebrations.

Jai Telangana'
