Panchayat polls: SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh meet with Guv concludes

The meeting between State Election Commissioner (SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar and Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan concluded on Tuesday. In the 30-minute meeting, the SEC informed the Governor about the AP High Court verdict on gram panchayat polls and reasons for suspending EC’s Joint Director GV Sai Prasad. He also explained to the Governor the real intent behind issuing the schedule for the panchayat elections. According to sources, Ramesh brought to the notice of Harichandan about the comments made by YSRCP Rajya Sabha member V Vijaya Sai Reddy and leaders of employees’ unions.
