Union Budget 2021 to be paperless
Union Budget 2021 is going to be paperless due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to present the budget on 1st February. This is the first in time the budget papers will not be printed since independence. Both houses of the parliament gave permission to the Center regarding this.
The Centre decided on a paperless budget as it requires more number of people to prepare the budget papers in the printing press amid the coronavirus fear. The staff need to stay at the printing press until the completion of printing. Soft copies will be provided to the members of parliament.
